Indexing & Discoverability Support
Indexing & Discoverability Support
Get indexing-ready, honestly
Gap audits against DOAJ, Scopus and Web of Science criteria, remediation of what’s actually failing, and applications prepared properly — with a straight answer about your chances before you spend a year on it.
Nobody can guarantee you indexing. Be suspicious of anyone who does.
Scopus, Web of Science and DOAJ make their own decisions on their own criteria, and there is no back channel. Vendors selling guaranteed inclusion are either lying or describing something that will damage your journal permanently when it’s discovered.
What can be done is real, though. Most rejections come down to a fixable set of causes: incomplete policy documentation, inconsistent publication schedule, weak metadata, thin editorial board disclosure, missing archiving arrangements. We identify which of those apply to you, fix them, and prepare an application that isn’t rejected on process grounds.
If your journal isn’t ready, we’ll tell you that on the first call rather than take a year’s fees.
What we do
Readiness audit
Your journal assessed line by line against DOAJ, Scopus and Web of Science criteria, with every gap documented and ranked by how likely it is to sink an application.
Policy documentation
Peer review, ethics, authorship, corrections, licensing, APC and archiving policies written, aligned to COPE and published where evaluators look for them.
Metadata remediation
Crossref records, article-level metadata and full-text availability brought up to the standard indexers actually check.
Editorial board strengthening
Board composition, affiliations, geographic spread and public disclosure reviewed against what evaluators expect to see.
Application preparation
Applications compiled, evidenced and submitted, with responses to evaluator queries handled through the review cycle.
Discoverability beyond indexes
Google Scholar inclusion, OAI-PMH harvesting, repository deposits and aggregator feeds — the channels that drive readership regardless of index status.
Three outcomes from an audit
Ready now.
Gaps are cosmetic. We prepare and submit, and your odds are genuinely good.
Ready in 12–24 months.
The fixable problems are real but solvable — usually policy, metadata and schedule consistency. We give you the plan and the sequence.
Not a realistic target yet.
Publication history is too short, volume too low, or board and author base too narrow. We’ll say so, tell you what would have to change, and not sell you an application that will fail.
Roughly a third of the journals we audit fall into the third category. Telling them is the point of the audit.
How it works
- Audit — A full assessment against your target index’s published criteria, delivered as a written report with a candid readiness verdict. Yours to keep regardless of what you do next.
- Remediate — We fix what’s failing: policies, metadata, documentation, archiving, board disclosure. Sequenced so the slowest items start first.
- Apply and respond — Application compiled and submitted, evaluator queries answered, and — if rejected — the feedback interpreted into a concrete plan for the next attempt.
We’re doing this for our own journals
Amplionix operates its own open access titles and is working through the same criteria, applications and evaluator feedback we’d handle for you. We know which requirements are checked mechanically and which involve judgement, because we’ve been assessed on them.
We’ve also studied how some journals engineer their way into indexes through citation manipulation and special-issue monetisation. We don’t do that work, and we’ll flag it if we see it in your operation — those routes get journals delisted, and delisting is far harder to recover from than never being indexed.
Written audit against published criteria, delivered whatever you decide next
No guarantees — because no honest vendor can offer one
Sequenced remediation, so the slow requirements start first
12+ years operating journals through these processes
Audit first, remediation quoted from it
The readiness audit is a fixed one-off fee. Remediation is quoted from the audit findings, so you only pay to fix what’s actually broken. Application support runs as a defined project with a fixed price. No success fees, no retainers tied to an outcome we don’t control.
