Journal Management

JOURNAL MANAGEMENT

Run your journal like an operation, not a scramble

We take over the day-to-day mechanics of publishing — submissions, peer review, production, DOI deposits and indexing compliance — so your editors can focus on scholarship instead of chasing reviewers.

Most journals don't fail on quality. They fail on operations.

Manuscripts sit in inboxes. Reviewers go silent and nobody follows up. DOIs get deposited late, metadata drifts out of sync, and an indexing application that took months to prepare gets rejected on a technicality.

Amplionix manages that entire layer for you. We combine a purpose-built editorial platform with a team that handles the workflow daily — so submissions move on schedule and your journal stays compliant with the standards that indexing bodies actually check.

What's included

Submission & editorial workflow

A configured submission portal, automated acknowledgements, desk-screening rules and status tracking. Authors always know where their manuscript stands.

Peer review coordination

Reviewer sourcing, invitations, reminders and escalation handled by our team. We chase the reviewers so your editors don't have to.

Production & typesetting

Accepted manuscripts formatted to your house style, with consistent templates, figure handling and proof cycles before publication.

DOI & metadata management

Crossref registration, DOI assignment and deposit for every article, with clean, complete metadata that indexers and discovery services can read.

Indexing & compliance support

DOAJ, COPE and Crossref requirements mapped against your current setup, gaps closed, and applications prepared and submitted on your behalf.

Archiving & continuity

ISSN records, digital preservation, stable article URLs and full data export whenever you want it. Your archive stays yours.

Who it's for

New journals

New journals launching their first volume and needing a working editorial system from day one, not six months in.

Established journals

Established journals where submission volume has outgrown a manual, email-driven process.

Society & university presses

Society and university presses managing multiple titles with a small central team and no dedicated technical staff.

How it works

Three steps from first conversation to a journal that runs on schedule.

1

Book a discovery call

We map your current workflow, platform, volumes and compliance gaps in one session, then send a written scope with fixed pricing and timelines.

2

We build and migrate

Your platform is configured or rebuilt around how your journal actually runs, existing content and metadata are migrated, and your team is trained before go-live.

3

We run it with you

Ongoing editorial coordination, DOI deposits, monitoring and updates, with a named contact and same-working-day responses.

We publish journals ourselves

Amplionix isn’t an agency that learned publishing from a spec sheet. We operate our own peer-reviewed open access titles, including JATIR, running since 2014. Every workflow we build for a client has already been stress-tested against real submission volumes, real reviewer drop-off and real indexing applications.

That means fewer discovery calls spent explaining what a desk rejection is, and more time spent fixing the part of your process that’s actually broken.

Predictable, flat pricing

Journal management runs on a monthly retainer scoped to your title count and submission volume. No hourly billing, no surprise change orders, and no per-article surcharges. You’ll have the number before any work begins.

FAQ

No. We work with OJS and most existing setups. If a migration genuinely makes sense, we’ll say so and show you the cost and the risk before you decide.

You do — manuscripts, author records, metadata and the archive. Full export is available at any time, including if you leave.

Never. Acceptance and rejection stay entirely with your editorial board. We manage the process, not the judgement.

We prepare and submit DOAJ and Crossref applications and align your journal with COPE standards. No one can guarantee acceptance by an indexing body, and you should be sceptical of anyone who does.

Discovery calls are usually scheduled within a week. Most journals are live on a configured workflow inside four to six weeks, depending on migration scope.
